What is the EPP Code, and how do I find it?

The EPP Code (also known as the Authorization Code) is an extra layer of security added by domain registrars and it protects your domain from unauthorized transfers. Before transferring your domain to or from Bluetreehost, you must know the EPP code for the domain. It is required for .com, .net, .org, .biz, .info and .us domain names. You can not initiate a transfer without knowing this code.

If your domain is currently hosted with another registrar, you must contact that registrar to obtain the EPP code. Below are some screenshots from some common registrars that will help you obtain the EPP Code.

GoDaddy

Log into your account, then click on the domain you wish to obtain the EPP Code for. GoDaddy calls this the "Authorization Code". Verify the registration information is correct, Godaddy will send the EPP Code to the e-mail address in the "Administrative Contact" for the domain.

Godaddy Domain Info

Click on Send by Email in the Authorization Code field under Domain Information

Godaddy Will Confirm Authorization Code Sending

Click OK to have it send the code. It will send the code to the Administrative contact for the domain.
